3-2 Triumph Runs 51s Streak to 7 Games
|
The Fresno Grizzlies got a superb performance from pitcher Harman Wellon, but the Las Vegas 51s still won the game, 3-2. Wellon threw 7.0 innings of 1-hit ball. The winning pitcher was Paul Dudley. His record now stands at 1-1. The left-hander went 8 innings, allowing 2 runs on 8 hits for the 51s. Chris Nieves closed it out for Las Vegas, earning his 7th save.
Las Vegas used the timely hitting of Tom Butler to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the 51s on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
