Salt Lake left fielder Jim Matthews made his presence felt in the 8-6 Bees triumph over the Fresno Grizzlies. Matthews went 2-5 with 2 doubles and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. The Bees move to 66-70 with the win, while the Grizzlies drop to 60-76.

Matthews had a game-changing double in the top of the ninth. On a first pitch splitter from Gene Kaiser, he banged a 2-run double to right, giving the Bees a 7-6 lead. It was the 17th double of the year for Matthews.

Matthews said afterward that "winning is what it's all about."
