The Albuquerque Isotopes racked up a win at Raley Field, bumping off the Sacramento River Cats, 3-1. Matt Flowers, who started for Albuquerque, pitched effectively for his team. Flowers yielded 1 run over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 4, and struck out 6. His record improves to 2-3. J.R. Purcell closed it out for his 4th save.

Luis Torres came through with a big-time hit for Albuquerque. The catcher smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 3-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"Tough loss," said Sacramento manager Elwiin de Lange. "But we'll learn from it."

Albuquerque occupies second place in the Pacific Conference South Division at 68-68.
