Nall Too Tough, Blanks Sacramento
The Sacramento River Cats manager was philosophical in the clubhouse following a shutout loss to the Albuquerque Isotopes. The River Cats were overpowered by Albuquerque starter Mike Nall, who hurled his club to victory, 5-0.

"It was just one of those games -- shake it off and do better next time," Brian Johnson said.

Over 9 innings, Nall blanked Sacramento on 7 hits with 1 walk and 7 strikeouts.

"I kept them off balance. I could tell a lot of them were late on fastballs because they were fouling them off. Once you see that, it sets them up for other pitches," Nall said.

"I set them up, where if they chased one breaking ball, they were going to chase another one."

To date this year, Nall has compiled a 7-3 mark with a 2.76 ERA in 13 starts.
