The Sacramento River Cats used a stellar performance from pitcher Troy Anderson to throttle the El Paso offense en route to an extra-inning, 5-1 win at Southwest University park. Israel Torres earned his 8th save, after closing out the game. By defeating El Paso, the first-place River Cats improved to 71-69.

Anderson, the winner, is now 6-12. In 9.2 innings of work, he gave up 1 run on 6 hits, while collecting 9 Ks. He essentially shut down the El Paso offense.

"We didn't go down without a fight," said El Paso manager Marvin Jimenez.
