Isotopes Handle Rainiers, Grab 8-6 Win
A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Albuquerque Isotopes and Tacoma Rainiers.

The Albuquerque Isotopes overcame a pretty good performance by Tacoma third baseman Shane Light, beating the Rainiers, 8-6, at Isotopes Park. Light went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Picking up the save was 28-year old right-handed pitcher John Ekdar.

Justin Bishop had a big grand slam home run for the Isotopes in the bottom of the second inning. With Albuquerque leading 2-1 and the bases loaded, he sized up a sinker from 29-year old right-handed pitcher Manny Rodriguez and punished it. The result was his 6th home run of the season, which put the Isotopes on top, 6-1.

"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Albuquerque skipper Caleb Eldridge.

The first-place Isotopes improved to 95-45.
