Isotopes Top Grizzlies, 8-7
|
The Albuquerque Isotopes withstood an impressive performance by Fresno left fielder Steve Kuhlman to defeat the Grizzlies, 8-7, at Chukchansi Park. Kuhlman went 3-5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Albuquerque reliever Perry Hiller was the winner. His record is now 3-2. John Morseth took the loss. Victor Merritt was credited with the save for Albuquerque, his 1st of the season.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Luis Rodriguez? The Albuquerque left fielder had a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Isotopes on top, 7-4. For the game, Rodriguez had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"No time for flexing," said Rodriguez. "It's always one game at a time."
With the win, Albuquerque pushed its record to 86-56.
