Round Rock Dismisses Iowa, 4-2
|
The Iowa Cubs could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Juan Acevedo into a win. Instead, the Round Rock Express prevailed, 4-2. Acevedo threw 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball. Butch Wheelock, credited with the save, is now 6 for 10 in save opportunities. Round Rock is now 68-74, Iowa 66-76.
Jose Gutierrez, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2108 draft, had a direct impact on the outcome. Gutierrez contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh inning to put Round Rock up, 3-1.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Gutierrez.
