Charlotte Knights pitcher Tony Ponce De Leon was all business, helping his team muzzle the Scranton WB RailRiders, 4-0. Ponce De Leon got the win, improving to 2-0. He gave up 5 hits and walked 2 over 7 innings. He allowed no runs. The defending champion Knights are off to a horrible start to the season, notching only their 6th win in 17 games.

Chris Germano had a big run-scoring double for the Knights in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Charlotte leading 1-0 and a runner on 3rd, he got a fastball from Zach Rogers, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2104 draft, and swatted a double to center. It was his 4th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Knights ahead, 2-0.

"I felt good up there," said Germano. "I saw the ball well."
