IronPigs Get Dramatic 2-1 Win
|
The Lehigh Valley IronPigs did just enough to secure a victory over the Pawtucket Red Sox, 2-1, at Coca-Cola Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Justin Scott. The victory puts Lehigh Valley at 16-57.
The IronPigs procured the win, in large part because of right fielder Francisco Castillo. In the bottom of the tenth, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.
During his postgame press conference, IronPigs manager Marcus Failing told reporters that he expected a tight game from the get-go. "This had the potential to go down to the wire, and it certainly didn't disappoint," he said, later quipping, "it might've been a little less nerve-racking if I had been watching the game from my couch!"
