Braves Earn 5-4 Win Versus Bats
|
Gwinnett beat Louisville at Louisville Slugger Field, eking out a 5-4 win. The triumph was primarily due to center fielder Orlando Venni. He went 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Gwinnett pitcher Kevin Carlton got the win, upping his record to 2-0. Mario Rangel got the loss. The loss puts Louisville at 7-10.
The game was all tied up in the top of the ninth, until Venni delivered big-time for Gwinnett, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Mario Rangel. The game-changing hit put the Braves on top, 5-4.
"We had situations where we should have got some runs in, but we didn't get the runs in," said losing manager Isaac Moles.
