Mud Hens Earn Win with Late Rally
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Toledo Mud Hens and the Indianapolis Indians, pitcher Gordie Schlenker was the difference between victory and defeat. The Toledo right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 3-2 Mud Hens win. Phil Richeson earned the save for Toledo, his 2nd of the year. Toledo is second in the West Division with a record of 38-36.
Left Fielder Chris Black made an impact for Toledo, when he swatted a run-scoring double off Frank Henson in the bottom of the fourth. For the contest, Black went 2-3 with a double.
"Every loss stings," said Indianapolis manager Rene Almanza. "This one is no exception."
