|
Led by Dan McCartney, the Pawtucket Red Sox downed the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, 3-2. McCartney went 4 for 4 with a home run and 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Red Sox. The second-place Red Sox improved to 42-32.
With Pawtucket leading 2-0 in the top of the third, McCartney hit a run-scoring single off Lehigh Valley hurler Jacob Zeller. It was the 42nd hit of the season for McCartney and put his team ahead, 3-0.
McCartney called the win the result of "everyone working in tandem."
