Mud Hens Pull Off Thrilling 5-2 Win in Extras
|
The Toledo Mud Hens and Columbus Clippers put on quite a show.
The Toledo Mud Hens racked up a win at Huntington Park, bumping off the Columbus Clippers, 5-2, in 10 innings. Kenneth Jones, who started for Toledo, pitched effectively for his team. Alexis Javier nailed down the save.
Toledo used the timely hitting of Brad Littell to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Mud Hens on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
In postgame remarks, Littell said: "I'm proud of our guys, of their fight."
At 41-35, Toledo is in first place in the West Division.
