Razor-Sharp Magallan Blanks Louisville
The Louisville Bats were almost helpless in their 1-0 loss to the Durham Bulls and hurler Jesus Magallan. Magallan kept the Bats confused all game, spinning a 3-hit shutout.

"Tip your hat to Magallan," Louisville manager Isaac Moles said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night."

The 26-year-old right-hander had 2 walks and 3 strikeouts in a strong performance.

"It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Magallan said. "It was just one of those games that things went my way."

Magallan has gone 7-5 this season with an ERA of 2.93 and 90 strikeouts in 101.1 innings pitched. Other clubs are hitting .227 against him.
