The 6-4 Syracuse win over Buffalo was due largely to Kevin Lovett. The Chiefs first baseman went 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Bobby Rivera was the winner in relief. His record is now 6-1. The losing pitcher was Alfredo Gonzalez. Picking up the save was 25-year old right-handed pitcher Matt Arnett.

The Chiefs got a big at-bat from shortstop Kyle Witek. For the game, Witek went 1-4 with a triple. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run triple. His 1st triple of the season gave Syracuse a 2-0 lead.

"You never take a win for granted in this league," said Lovett.
