RailRiders Curb Red Sox, 3-1
|
Scranton WB turned a good performance from starting pitcher Johnny Moore into a 3-1 triumph over the Pawtucket Red Sox at PNC Field. The win belonged to Kyle Bowers in relief. His record improves to 3-3. Manny Esparza took the loss for Pawtucket. Scranton WB is now 34-45, Pawtucket 38-42.
Stephen Hayman was 1-2 with a walk for Scranton WB. With one out and the game tied in the bottom of the seventh inning, Hayman had a clutch at-bat. Facing Pawtucket hurler Manny Esparza, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run to give the RailRiders a 2-1 lead.
"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Moore.
