DiPonio Impressive in 5-0 Columbus Triumph
|
Ryan DiPonio pitched a gem in leading Columbus to a 5-0 victory over the Rochester Red Wings. The setback makes the Red Wings 7-11.
The win was credited to DiPonio. He raised his season record to 2-1. In 8.1 innings of work, DiPonio gave up no runs on 2 hits, while striking out 8. The Red Wings never could get a clutch hit when they needed it.
"Ryan was really on it," said Columbus manager Toby West. "He's got a feel for playing with the hitter front-to-back, side-to-side."
