Bats Take Tight Tilt, 4-3
|
The 4-3 Louisville win over Indianapolis was due in large part to Noah Wilder. The Bats pitcher threw 9.0 innings of 5-hit ball. Wilder, who is tied for 10th in the IL in complete games with 2, went the distance for Louisville. He gave up 3 runs on 5 hits. Louisville has now won 3 in a row.
Louisville got a knockout punch from Jose Alvarez. The pinch hitter hammered a grand slam home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
"This game was intense," Wilder said, postgame.
