Clippers Drop Bats, 5-1
|
The Columbus Clippers picked up a win at Huntington Park, knocking off the Louisville Bats, 5-1. Starting pitcher Dale Tatem was a big reason why. The Clippers raised their record to 44-41.
Had Trevor Vallee not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Vallee hit a bases-clearing double. That made the score 4-1, in favor of the Clippers.
"There are times you get yourself out and there are times you come through," Vallee said. "That's how it goes."
