Erie Rallies for 5-3 Victory
|
The Erie SeaWolves picked up a win at Jerry Uht Park, taking down the Altoona Curve, 5-3. Starting pitcher Andrew Kleinke was a big reason why. Erie reliever Bryce Beasley snagged the win, upping his record to 1-0. Dan Vega shouldered the loss. Erie goes to 5-3 with the win.
The game was at a stalemate until center fielder Jamie Jacobs came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Altoona pitcher Dan Vega, he hit a 1-0 cutter for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Erie on top, 5-3.
"When you have a good rhythm and good flow, it's nice to just go out there and pound the strike zone with confidence," said Kleinke.
