Braves Win Nail-Biter
|
The Gwinnett Braves defeated the Durham Bulls, 7-6, at Durham Bulls Athletic Park today. Leading the charge for Gwinnett was right fielder Rob Swope. He was 2 for 5 with 2 triples, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. Gwinnett has a record of 50-37, placing them second in the South Division.
Swope had a game-changing triple in the top of the tenth. On a first pitch fastball from Gregg Peterson, he banged a run-scoring triple to right-center, giving the Braves a 6-5 lead. It was the 6th triple of the year for Swope.
"We think we're a good team overall, so we're not too surprised to win today," said Swope.
