Win Goes to Red Wings in Tight Contest
|
In a tight contest between the Rochester Red Wings and the Buffalo Bisons, Matt Doering was the determining factor. The Rochester right-hander sparkled in his team's 2-0 win. The win went to Jeff Robles in relief, making him now 6-3. Dustin Marks took the loss for Buffalo. The Red Wings now have a record of 49-40 with the win over Buffalo.
Rochester used the timely hitting of Matt Hughes to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Red Wings on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Runs were at a premium," said Rochester manager Luke Logan.
