The Buffalo Bisons pinned a convincing loss on the Rochester Red Wings, 9-1, at Coca-Cola Field. Dave Brunner was a main factor in the win. He went 3-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for Buffalo. Justin Blatchford, the winner, is now 6-6. He struck out 7 and walked 3 over 7 innings, while allowing 1 run on 6 hits. The first-place Bisons, at 54-36, lead the North Division by 2½ games.

In the bottom of the third, 23-year old catcher Danny Miranda hit a 3-run home run. The 8th home run of the season for the Buffalo first baseman put the Bisons on top, 4-1.

"I like the makeup of this team," said Bisons manager Casey Bac.
