IronPigs Trip RailRiders, 2-1
|
The Lehigh Valley IronPigs and Scranton WB RailRiders completed their game despite the inclement weather.
The Scranton WB RailRiders wasted an inspired, 6-inning effort from starter Bobby Hogsett, falling, 2-1, to the Lehigh Valley IronPigs at Coca-Cola Park. Lehigh Valley reliever Milo Allen picked up the win. Bobby Hogsett, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2108 draft, took the loss for Scranton WB.
The IronPigs got a big at-bat from catcher Joe Lewis. For the game, Lewis was 1 for 2 with a double. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 4th double of the season gave Lehigh Valley a 2-1 lead.
Lewis attributed the win to his team's "concerted effort."
The IronPigs upped their record to 42-48.
