Columbus right fielder Ryan Staples had 3 ribbies while helping his team defeat the Toledo Mud Hens, 7-6. Nick Mulcahey notched his 3rd save of the season. The Clippers saw their win-loss record go to 42-49. At the same time, the Mud Hens fell to 35-56.

Rory Palmer took Toledo hurler Dan Hayes deep in the top of the fourth. His 2-run home run put the Clippers on top, 4-2. In all, Palmer had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.

"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Toledo manager Will Esparza. "The effort was great."
