The Syracuse Chiefs had to overcome a fine effort from Lehigh Valley pitcher Tom Fetherolf to win, 4-3, at NBT Bank Stadium. Fetherolf went 6.1 innings and allowed 3 runs. Mike Carr picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 5-2. Milo Allen suffered the loss. With the win, the Chiefs sit at 58-34.

Joey Boykin was the walk-off hero for Syracuse. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Chiefs catcher hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"We fed off the energy of the crowd at the end," Boykin said.
