Braves Tack 8-2 Loss on Columbus
|
The Gwinnett Braves defeated the Columbus Clippers, 8-2, in part because of left fielder Dakota Price. Price was 2 for 5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 5 runs and scored once for the Braves. Tim Hall got the win, improving to 1-0. He pitched 6.1 innings, giving up 6 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 1. The win puts Gwinnett at 13-6.
Price had a key at-bat for Gwinnett in the top of the second. With a runner on 1st, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and gave Gwinnett an early 2-0 lead.
"The effort wasn't good enough," said losing manager Toby West.
