Tides Drop Braves, 3-2
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Norfolk Tides and the Gwinnett Braves, pitcher Jose Valencia was the difference between victory and defeat. The Norfolk right-hander earned kudos in the 3-2 Tides win. The second-place Tides now sit at 48-45.
Ian Boyle had a direct impact on the outcome. Boyle contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the second inning to put Norfolk up, 1-0.
"We hit some balls hard and didn't get rewarded for it," said Gwinnett manager A.J. Godfrey.
