Peyton Scarola, despite pitching well, was dismayed with the outcome: a hard-fought, 1-0 Syracuse Chiefs defeat at the hands of the Buffalo Bisons at NBT Bank Stadium. Gene Kaiser recorded the save, making him 6 for 9. The 'W' lifts Buffalo's record to 48-45.

The Bisons got a big at-bat from designated hitter Tim Gregory. For the game, Gregory was 1-4 with a home run. In the top of the first, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 9th home run of the season gave Buffalo a 1-0 lead.
