The Gwinnett Braves got a good effort from starter Pete Kasper in defeating the Durham Bulls at Coolray Field. The final score was 4-2. The Braves are now 40-54, while the Bulls fall to 45-49.

Had Mike Searles not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Searles hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Braves.

"Pete is a gamer," said Gwinnett manager Danny Gerson.
