Clippers Defeated, 4-2
|
Despite the rain, the fans at Coolray Field enjoyed a good ballgame.
Gwinnett Braves starter Chris Snodgrass found his groove in his team's 4-2 win over the Columbus Clippers. Dave Buskey earned the save, his 14th.
Gwinnett designated hitter Cecil Martin contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a sinker to right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 68th hit of the season and put the Braves ahead, 3-2.
"It was a solid team effort," said Martin after the game.
With the win, Gwinnett raised its record to 50-47.
