Mud Hens Lose at Home, 8-5, to Scranton WB
|
The Scranton WB RailRiders topped the Toledo Mud Hens, 8-5, at Fifth Third Field. Scranton WB third baseman Jorge Perez was a spark plug for the offense. He went 1 for 2 with 3 walks. The winner was Dave Harris, who threw 97 pitches over 5 innings. The left-hander was charged with 3 runs on 7 hits. The RailRiders now have a record of 43-55.
Ricky Aguirre had a big 2-run double for the RailRiders in the top of the second inning. With Scranton WB leading 3-0 and the bases loaded, he got a slider from Cole May, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2105 draft, and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 23rd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the RailRiders ahead, 5-0.
"Not the sexiest win," said RailRiders manager Chris Carley, "but I'll take it."
