The Charlotte Knights and Syracuse Chiefs riveted fans at NBT Bank Stadium.

The Syracuse Chiefs beat the Charlotte Knights, 6-4, at NBT Bank Stadium. Tony Torres, in particular, was impressive. He went 2-4 with 2 doubles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. John Neff got the win, improving to 3-1. He pitched 5.1 innings, giving up 7 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 1. Jimmy Robinson got credit for the save for Syracuse. It was his 2nd of the year.

Torres contributed in the bottom of the fifth. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a 2-run double. It was one at-bat among others that helped Syracuse get the win.

"We'll enjoy this win," said Torres. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."

The loss has the Knights at 8-12.
