IronPigs Use Late Surge to Win
The Lehigh Valley IronPigs defeated the Louisville Bats, 9-7, at Louisville Slugger Field. Lehigh Valley first baseman Aaron Cruse had a superb performance. He was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Rich Gilbert locked down his 15th save. Lehigh Valley goes to 49-51, Louisville to 63-38.

Lehigh Valley used the timely hitting of Jim Rees to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the IronPigs on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Banging out wins is what it's all about," said Rees.
