The Louisville Bats beat the Pawtucket Red Sox, 6-4, at Louisville Slugger Field. Louisville right fielder Tom Hedges had an outstanding performance. He was 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The winning pitcher was Mel Valdez. He's now 14-6. He went 8 innings, allowing 4 runs on 8 hits for the Bats. The setback makes Pawtucket 45-56.

Hedges had a game-changing double in the bottom of the seventh. On a first pitch sinker from Billy Chiquete, he banged a 2-run double to center, giving the Bats a 5-4 lead. It was the 17th double of the year for Hedges.
