The Charlotte Knights beat the Toledo Mud Hens, 7-6, at BB&T Stadium. The Knights got a fine performance from right fielder Brian Houston, who went 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. The winner was Angelo Trejo in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Jon Ballantine took the loss. The save was credited to Danny Torres, his 6th.

Houston had an important at-bat with runners on 1st and 2nd in the bottom of the seventh, when he hit a run-scoring double. The Knights went on to win.

"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Charlotte manager Nick Zlomke.

The Knights, at 53-49, sit in third place in the South Division.
