IronPigs Suffer 3-2 Home Loss
|
The Norfolk Tides earned a close win over the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, thanks in part to Jose Cruz. The Norfolk left-hander played a key role in the 3-2 victory. The first-place Tides have won 4 straight.
Norfolk used the hitting of Fernando Torres to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a solo home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Tides on top, 3-1. For the game, Torres had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Norfolk manager Shawn Campbell.
