Pawtucket Dealt 8-2 Defeat
|
The Indianapolis Indians thumped the Pawtucket Red Sox, 8-2, at Victory Field. Eric Holmes was a big reason his team got the win. Holmes went 2 for 5 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Indianapolis reliever Micah Cavins picked up the win to move to 2-2. Steve Johnson suffered the loss. Indianapolis, at 38-67, occupies last place in the West Division.
In the bottom of the sixth, Indianapolis third baseman Drew Dietzel had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and two out, Dietzel stroked a 2-run single to right-center. It made the score 4-1, Indianapolis. For the game, he was 2 for 4 with 2 singles and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
