Clippers Suffer 3-1 Road Loss
|
In a low-scoring contest between the Lehigh Valley IronPigs and the Columbus Clippers, 25-year old right-handed pitcher Dan Huckaby proved to be the difference. The Lehigh Valley right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-1 IronPigs win. Miguel Rivera, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 2nd save. After today's action, Lehigh Valley sits at 47-59; Columbus slips to 44-61.
A crucial at-bat came with the bases empty and no one out in the bottom of the seventh inning. That's when right fielder Mark Bryan, who is tied for 3rd in the IL in stolen bases with 36, hit a triple. The IronPigs went on to win.
"Dan is one tough hombre," said Lehigh Valley manager Bryce Bissinger.
