The Scranton WB RailRiders could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Ricky Roy into a win. Instead, the Toledo Mud Hens prevailed, 3-0. Roy threw 6.1 innings of shutout ball. The winner in relief was Jose Oscal. He is now 4-1. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. The Mud Hens are now 55-53.

Toledo needed the clutch hitting of Jay Bormann to seal the deal. The center fielder swatted a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Mud Hens on top, 3-0. For the game, Bormann had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.

"Some wins are easy and some are difficult, but either way we come to the ballpark ready to work hard every day," Bormann told the Toledo Today.
