Mud Hens Best RailRiders in Pitching Duel
|
The Scranton WB RailRiders got a superb performance from pitcher Mike Rice. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Toledo. The Mud Hens won the game, 2-0. Rice threw 6.2 innings allowing 2 runs. Diego Garzon earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.2 innings. He upped his record to 4-4. Phil Richeson picked up his 12th save of the season.
Casey Peterson had a critical at-bat with two out in the bottom of the seventh for Toledo. He came through with a run-scoring single to put Toledo in front, 2-0.
Peterson said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
Today's win puts Toledo at 54-54, while Scranton WB falls to 45-62.
