Braves Fall to Indians Late
|
The Indianapolis Indians outlasted the Gwinnett Braves, 10-8, in 10 innings. Jeff Youngs played a key role, going 2-for-5 for Indianapolis. The Indians, at 71-37, have a comfortable 21½-game lead in their division.
Indianapolis used the timely hitting of Dustin Sheppard to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Indians on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Big win," said Sheppard.
