Braves Keep Streak Alive with Late Rally
Gwinnett beat Charlotte at BB&T Stadium, eking out a 6-5 win. The triumph was primarily due to left fielder Ryan Leese. He went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Gwinnett reliever Lance Edwards picked up the win. Victor Peden took the loss for Charlotte. The Braves are now 57-52.

Leese contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Gwinnett in the top of the ninth. With his team trailing 5-4, Leese took a fastball from Victor Peden and stroked the home run to left-center. His 7th home run of the season allowed the Braves to leap in front, 6-5.

"Ryan was exceptional and he pitched with a purpose," said Gwinnett manager Nate Bouse.
