Indians Plunge Past Lehigh Valley, 14-13
|
Lehigh Valley catcher Justin Sieler had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 14-13, to Indianapolis in 14 innings. Sieler went 4-5 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Indianapolis reliever Mario Santiago picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Eric Patterson absorbed the loss. The Indians are off to a nightmare start as they look to defend their championship, notching only their 7th win in 21 games.
Indianapolis took the lead, 11-10, on Ryan Faulkner's 7th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Faulkner hit in the top of the 14th, made Lehigh Valley pitcher Eric Patterson wince.
"We earned that one," said Faulkner.
