Bats Use Late Rally to Win
|
The Louisville Bats beat the Indianapolis Indians by a score of 7-5. Louisville left fielder Curt Girardi deserved the lion's share of the credit. Girardi went 1-3 with a double and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Bats. Willie Morel got credit for the win, improving to 3-3. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. Louisville bumps their record to 65-44 with the win.
Girardi contributed a big hit, a bases-clearing double, for Louisville in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 2-1, Girardi took a knuckle curve from Kyle Stevens and stroked the double to center. His 11th double of the season allowed the Bats to leap in front, 4-2.
"At the end of the day, wins and losses are really the only thing that matters," said Girardi.
