Lehigh Valley got a strong outing from Steve Thomas as the IronPigs defeated the Buffalo Bisons, 6-1, at Coca-Cola Field. In 5.1 innings, Thomas surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 3. He allowed no runs. Lehigh Valley is now 50-60, while Buffalo is 61-49.

The Bisons had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the IronPigs going into the top of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 26-year old third baseman Jim White came to the plate. White hit a solo home run on a 1-1 fastball from Buffalo hurler Jason Norris. It was White's 3rd home run of the year.

"When Steve is in the zone, it's kind of like -- good luck," said Lehigh Valley manager Bryce Bissinger.
