Due in large part to third baseman Corey Ellis, the Toledo Mud Hens sunk the Indianapolis Indians, 5-3. Ellis went 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk, while scoring 2. Diego Garzon earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 4.2 innings. His record is now 5-4. Toledo occupies second place in the West Division at 56-54.
Toledo used the timely hitting of Alberto Servantez to capture the win. The designated hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Mud Hens on top, 5-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.
