With 6-2 Win, Bisons Improve to 57-56
|
The Buffalo Bisons defeated the Syracuse Chiefs, 6-2, in International League action at Coca-Cola Field. Buffalo pitcher Chris Gyory had a standout performance. Gyory, the winner, moves to 6-4. He threw 6.1 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 3 walks. Today's win puts Buffalo at 57-56, while Syracuse falls to 58-55.
The Bisons got a big at-bat from left fielder Tom Lazier. For the game, Lazier went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 9th home run of the season gave Buffalo a 3-0 lead.
"We looked pretty good up and down," said Buffalo manager Casey Bac.
