Gwinnett hurler Chris Valentine put on quite a show, as he blitzed the Durham Bulls with a 4-0 shutout. He baffled them with fastballs and changeups, allowing 1 hit with 5 strikeouts and 4 walks to pick up the win.
"I think every time we were looking for a fastball, he threw a changeup and every time we were looking for a changeup, he threw a fastball," Durham manager Arnáo Dique told reporters after the game.
So far this year, Valentine has made 22 starts, tossed 125.1 innings, struck out 130 batters and walked 96. His record is 8-6 with a 4.31 ERA and he has limited opposing teams to a .214 batting average.
