Norfolk pitcher Juan Quintanilla did his part in helping his team beat the Charlotte Knights, 5-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Quintanilla got the win, improving to 4-2. He gave up 5 hits and walked 2 over 6 innings. He allowed 2 runs. The Tides now own a record of 54-58.

Alex Baeza had a big 2-run triple for the Tides in the bottom of the third inning. With Norfolk leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from Ryan Broughton, who is tied for 2nd in the IL with a 10.1 K/9 rate, and swatted a triple to center. It was his 1st triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Tides ahead, 3-0.

In postgame comments to the Norfolk Daily, Baeza said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
