Bisons Win by Slim Margin, 1-0
|
The Gwinnett Braves got a superb performance from pitcher Wayne McQuillan, but the Buffalo Bisons still won the game, 1-0. McQuillan threw 8.0 innings of shutout ball. Buffalo, with the win, is 14-7.
Buffalo used a clutch hit from Alex Villegas to get the win. The first baseman drilled a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Bisons ahead, 1-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Nice, tidy little win," Villegas said after the game.
