Carey Rips 2 Home Runs in 7-3 Chiefs Triumph
Syracuse took on Pawtucket in front of a lively crowd.

Ryan Carey was a major contributor to the 7-3 Syracuse win over Pawtucket. The Chiefs left fielder went 3-5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. Manny Arellano got the win, improving to 1-0. He held the Red Sox to 3 runs on 6 hits over 9 innings, while striking out 7 and walking 3.

Carey had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a full count fastball from Allen Reeves, he banged a grand slam home run to left-center, giving the Chiefs a 7-3 lead. It was the 21st home run of the year for Carey.

"Nice to tuck this win away," said Carey.

The victory gives Syracuse a record of 61-53.
